A New Mike for a New Era

Mike VI made his first official tour of Tiger Stadium before LSU's win over Florida on September 6. The Bengal-Siberian mix tiger has made a good adjustment to the new environment, is in good health, and now is free to roam the outside environs of his Tiger Lair. The two-year-old tiger weighs in at 300 pounds and could reach 700 pounds at maturity. In contrast, Mike V was 350 pounds.

During his first football season, Mike VI reigned over the SEC Champion football team and led the Tigers to win the school's second BCS Championship game. Hopefully he will be as successful as that of Mike V, who reigned over a football national championship, five baseball national championships and a remarkable 23 track and field championships. He saw LSU sports teams win 37 SEC titles from 1990 to 2007.

The Tiger Band needs a new home. Check out the link below to see how you can help.
The Golden Band from Tigerland

The LSU Tiger Band is an integral part of all that is LSU. To maintain the band's status as an elite program, it needs a new band hall. With a new facility, the band will be able to practice indoors each day - regardless of weather conditions. Check the website below to find out about the needed facilities and to learn how you can help make a dream become a reality.
